In Chapter II, vulnerability is assessed in the context of border management, in particular the passive and active interception measures of which the EU and its Member States make use to prevent irregularly arriving migrants from reaching the territory of the Union. The main argument of the chapter is that these measures constitute in and of themselves another source of vulnerability for asylum-seekers.en
